Former Alabama basketball forward James Rojas officially announced his decision to transfer to Wichita State on Sunday afternoon, via his Instagram page. He will use his sixth season of eligibility thanks to the extra year granted by the NCAA during the COVID-19 pandemic.

James Rojas spent two seasons in Kansas at Hutchinson Community College before committing to Buffalo and playing for Alabama under Nate Oats and his coaching staff. He has dealt with multiple knee injuries during his college career but played 47 games over the past two seasons.

He averaged 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds, also adding 0.6 steals per game at Alabama, offering a high-energy option off the bench.

Former Alabama teammate Juwan Gary also entered the transfer portal this offseason and has received interest from Wichita State, according to multiple reports.
