LOOK: Former Alabama receiver Javon Baker calls out Kentucky in pair of Instagram posts
Thursday morning, Javon Baker was still expected to be a member of the Kentucky football program. But Thursday afternoon, news broke the former Alabama wide receiver de-committed — and a cryptic social media post fueled speculation about what happened.
Baker posted two pictures on his Instagram story about the decision and brought about some questions regarding what happened. He initially called out reporters’ “sources” about the story, but then confirmed the de-commitment.
“Just woke up how y’all gone decommitt [sic] for me what kinda ‘sources’ is y’all,” he wrote.
“O well [never mind] guess They did decommit me there self [sic] damn I wanted to play for Kentucky,” he later added. “Bigger and better plans the most high got me.”
Baker entered the transfer portal in January and committed to Kentucky shortly thereafter. However, news came out Thursday that he wouldn’t attend UK after all — and more questions are now rising amid his Instagram posts.
