Former Arkansas WR Jaedon Wilson enters NCAA Transfer Portal after stepping away from team
Jaedon Wilson officially entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos, after stepping away from the Arkansas football team.
Wilson took to Instagram to announce his initial decision. The redshirt junior is now officially moving on.
“I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the University of Arkansas, its dedicated fans, my coaches, my teammates, and the community of Fayetteville,” Wilson wrote. “As I prepare to step away from my role on the football team, it is important for me to reflect on the incredible journey have experienced during my time in Fayetteville.”
“First and foremost, I want to thank the University of Arkansas for providing me with an exceptional environment to grow both academically and athletically. I also want to give thanks and state how proud I am to be a graduate of the University of Arkansas. l am looking forward to the next chapter of my life as I will continue to dedicate myself to playing at the highest level of college football. I love the sport and my passion to play is greater than ever.”
Wilson played in eight snaps on offense in Arkansas dominant season opener Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Closing a curtain on his Razorback career after playing in 22 total games with four starts where he caught 18 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns.

As a member of the Class of 2021, Wilson was a four-star recruit out of DeSoto (Texas) High, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 60 overall prospect in the state, the No. 53 wide receiver in the class and the No. 366 overall prospect in the class.
According to Wilson’s message, he intends to continue his career, just not with the Razorbacks. He did not disclose specifically what led to his decision to step away from the Arkansas program.
“I would like to wish the best to all the coaches and players at the University of Arkansas and I will be cheering for all of you,” Wilson added. I have treasured my time in Fayetteville and will miss my Hog family. Please understand and respect this decision for I truly believe it is best for me and my family at this time. Thanks go hogs!”
