Former Auburn football players call out treatment by program, lack of engagement
Auburn took a rough loss at home this weekend with plenty of negativity coming out of it on The Plains. It’s now apparently an even worse look for the program with some comments by former players for the Tigers.
Joshua Holsey had tweeted earlier today about being unable to return to games. He shared his disappointment about that, especially since he said that some are having to purchase tickets in order to be able to go back to Jordan-Hare.
“So I’ve learn that us former players have no room to go back to Auburn for the games! I’m highly disappointed to find this out,” wrote Holsey. “Seen guys say they had to purchase their own tickets to attend that’s toughh.”

Corey Grant then quoted that post with his own experience of his apparent removal from the stadium and recruiting center upon his own return for a game at Auburn.
“BRO!!! I was sitting in the Harbert Recruiting Center talking to recruits during a game. I was escorted out the stadium and asked to leave. Never gave me a reason. #WARDAMN,” wrote Grant.

Holsey and Grant both have five-year collegiate careers during the course of 2010 through 2016 under Gene Chizik and then Guz Malzahn. In that time, they crossed over for three seasons at Auburn from 2012 to 2014. The Tigers went 23-16 (.560) overall over those years, including a 12-2 mark in 2013 when they made an appearance in the final national championship in the BCS.
Holsey played defensive back while appearing in 44 games at Auburn. In his career, he totaled 118 tackles, four going for loss, along with 19 deflections and four interceptions in coverage. He then went on to be a seventh-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft and played two seasons for Washington.
Grant originally was at Alabama before transferring to join the Tigers. After sitting out a season and then not playing much in his second year, he went on to rush for 1,011 yards and nine touchdowns, while also receiving for another score, over a pair of seasons. While he went undrafted, he too played for four seasons in the pros with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Not much is going well, especially on offense, for the current team of Tigers through a 2-2 start to this season. It then looks even worse relations-wise for Auburn if any of these stances coming from former players are true.
