Gus Malzahn shares positive update on health of wife
UCF head coach Gus Malzahn took to Twitter on Jan. 17 with some heartbreaking news, as his wife, Kristi had been hospitalized with an unspecified infection; he asked for “prayers and support” from fans and followers following the development.
And a few weeks later, on Thursday, Malzahn again took to Twitter — this time, sharing good news, in a Twitter post that said “thankful to share the positive update.”
“I want to first thank all the people who have reached out to check on Kristi, and all of the prayers for her and our family. The support has been overwhelming and appreciated. As of today, Kristi has returned home and is doing significantly better. We cannot say enough about the staff at Orlando Regional Medical Center. The doctors, nurses and everyone at ORMC have gone above and beyond; I am forever thankful to all of them,” Malzahn said in his statement. “Mary, our team’s athletic trainer, and our team doctors have been unbelievable, and there is no thanks enough for them. Praise the Lord for Kristi’s recovery and looking forward to the progress she continues to make – I’m in awe of how tough she is!”
Malzahn’s wife, Kristi, appears to be doing much better. She’s returned home, and now, the Malzahn family appears to be focused on her recovery moving forward.
