Former Campbell heavyweight Taye Ghadiali has a new home for his final college wrestling season in 2025-26. Ghadiali announced he would attend Michigan on FloWrestling Radio Live Monday.

Ghadiali was an All-American contender for the 2025 NCAA Championships but was injured earlier this season. He opted to take a medical redshirt.

Ghadiali was 4-2 this season before being unable to wrestle. He finished in 8th place last season at the 2024 NCAA Championships in Kansas City, becoming an All-American for the first time.

“But the moment I went down there, I just came back from (my) Michigan visit and, man, it’s something special down there,” Ghadiali said. “I ended up going to Bible studies with the guys. I connected with their team. Their guys believe in me. The whole team believes in me. Everybody came up to me, made sure that I just felt welcome. (Kevin Jackson), Austin Gomez is still there. Alex Dieringer, Mason (Parris).

“I just seen that it wasn’t just like a one and done deal and leave like they all still are a family, and like they were all over there for the visit, and they were all there just showing love to me. And so, man, yeah I committed to Michigan, and I just see a bigger picture there and God’s gonna do some special there this year.”

Ghadiali is a four-time national qualifier, getting to the tournament all four years as a starter with Campbell. Now, he’ll have a chance to get there for a fifth time next season.

Over the course of his career, Ghadiali is 90-24 in varsity matches, going a career best 35-6 last season en route to an 8th place finish.

He went 4-3 at last year’s NCAA Tournament, beating Hunter Catka, Owen Trephan, Cory Day and Nathan Taylor throughout the bracket. He lost to eventual runner-up Lucas Davison, Nick Feldman and Yaraslau Slavikouski (in the 7th place match).
