College football insider Brett McMurphy reports that former Florida Gators and Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen is considering an offer to join the ESPN network as a studio analyst and is expect to accept the offer.

Mullen has appeared on ESPN in the past as a guest analyst and is less than one year removed to his coaching stint with Florida. Mullen went 5-6 in his last season with the Gators in 2021 and was fired following an overtime loss to Missouri. Mullen went 34-15 during his run with Florida, and was replaced with former Louisiana head coach Billy Napier in December of 2021.

The 50-year-old Pennsylvania native spent 2022 volunteering as a “contributing resource” for the football team and athletic department of Georgia high school Lake Oconee Academy.
