Former Georgia center Frank Anselem-Ibe commits to Louisville
Former Georgia Bulldogs center Frank Anselem-Ibe has found his college basketball home for the upcoming 2024-25 season in Kentucky. On Tuesday, the senior big man took to social media to announce that he is committed to playing for the Louisville Cardinals in the ACC next season.
Anselem-Ibe originally started his college basketball career in the Big Ten at Syracuse. With the Orange, he played in 36 games, earning six starts, with all six starts coming in his sophomore season. From there, he would transfer to Georgia just ahead of the 2022- 23 season, where he would again be primarily a rotation player coming off the bench.
In Athens, GA, Anselem-Ibe played in a total of 60 games over two seasons, earning nine starts while averaging 12 minutes of playing time per contest. Anselem-Ibe finishes his time with the Bulldogs, averaging 2.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and .7 blocks per contest while shooting just over 53% from the field.
Anselem arrived on the college scene as a three-star prospect and the No. 183 overall player from the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Louisville has been working feverishly to revamp its roster following another tumultuous season. Last year, the Cardinals went 8-24 and finished conference play at the bottom of the ACC with a 3-17 showing. Before the basketball season was up, the Cardinals made a change at head coach, parting ways with Kenny Payne, who they replaced with Pat Kelsey.
Since taking over the program, Kelsey has brought in 11 players by way of the transfer portal including Anselem-Ibe. That list of players includes Kasean Pryor from USF, Chucky Hepburn from Wisconsin, Koren Johnson from Washington, Terrence Edwards Jr. from JMU, J’Vonne Hadley from Colorado, Aboubacar Traore from Long Beach State, and Aly Khalifa from BYU.
The other three players Kelsey brought in are individuals who followed him from his previous coaching gig at Charleston: guard Reyne Smith, wing Kobe Rodgers, and center James Scott.
