Former Iowa wide receiver Jake Bostick has committed to Texas A&M out of the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

After redshirting in his first season with the Hawkeyes and suffering a significant injury, Bostick returned for the 2023 season. Appearing in five games last year for Iowa but recording zero statistics. Deciding to enter the transfer portal last month and delivering a heartfelt message on his way out of Iowa City.

“I would like to thank Coach Ferentz and the entire coaching staff, as I’ve grown and learned a lot – it has truly been a blessing to be a Hawkeye,” Bostick wrote. “Special thanks to Coach Copeland for believing in me and pushing me to be the best in all aspects of my life. And to Kammy, the doctors and the best training staff — thank you for all you have done for me, I will never forget it.”

Bostick played high school football at Palatine High School in Illinois, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 585 overall recruit and the No. 89 ranked wide receiver in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Bostic stands at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds and was also a standout in basketball and track during his high school career. Recording 31 receptions for 451 yards and nine touchdowns at Palatine in his junior seasons along with three touchdown grabs in four games as a senior before suffering an injury.

Head coach Mike Elko and the Aggies have made an effort to bolster up their passing game and add various pass catching options out of the transfer portal this offseason. With Bostic becoming the fourth wideout to transfer into the program this offseason along with two tight ends.

Former Troy wide receiver Jabre Barber headlines the group after catching 75 passes for 999 yards and five touchdowns last season in the Sun Belt. With Cyrus Allen also adding experience to the group after racking up 68 catches for 1,278 yards and eight touchdowns at Louisiana Tech. But with Bostic having three seasons of eligibility remaining in his college career he’ll have time to grow, develop, and potentially make an early impact following an injury to Barber.
