Former Kentucky running back Deamonte ‘Chip’ Trayanum has signed with Toledo out of the NCAA Transfer Portal. He will have one year of eligibility remaining

Trayanum began his college career at Arizona State, playing some as a linebacker, initially. He eventually transferred to Ohio State and then Kentucky, and changed his position to full-time running back along the way.

Trayanum transferred to Kentucky from Ohio State ahead of the 2024 campaign but only played in three games after suffering a broken hand before the season.

In his three appearances, Trayanum recorded 19 carries for 101 yards. In the 2023 season at Ohio State, Trayanum appeared in 12 games for the Buckeyes and was the team’s second-leading rusher, tallying 373 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 85 carries.

In total, Trayanum played two seasons at Ohio State and spent two seasons at Arizona State to begin his collegiate career. Trayanum amassed 692 yards and 10 touchdowns on 127 carries during his two seasons with the Sun Devils.

Trayanum played high school football at Archbishop Hoban (OH), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 285 overall recruit and No. 28 running back in the 2020 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“Baylor QB Dequan Finn is applying for a medical hardship waiver with the intention of returning to college for another season, a source tells @CBSSports / @247Sports,” Zenitz reported. “Opened last year as Baylor’s starter but was limited to three games due to injury. Was the 2023 MAC MVP at Toledo.”

As Zenitz alluded to, Finn transferred to Baylor this offseason after a standout 2023 campaign at Toledo. In his three games with the Bears, the quarterback amassed 307 passing yards and three passing touchdowns, while also adding on 66 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Prior, Finn led the Rockets to the MAC Championship Game in 2023, where Toledo fell to Miami (OH) in a heated battle. Over the course of the 2023 season, he amassed 2,657 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Moreover, Finn also added 563 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns on 123 carries while with the Rockets in 2023. In five seasons at Toledo, Finn accounted for 88 total touchdowns. At the time of his transfer, Finn was the No. 13 quarterback available in the transfer portal, according to On3’s Transfer Portal Player Rankings.
