Former LSU tight end Mac Markway transfers to Nebraska
Former LSU Tigers tight end Mac Markway has enrolled at Nebraska and joined the Cornhuskers team, according to a report by On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
Mac Markway left LSU earlier in the month and has not yet practiced at Nebraska. However, he is expected to join the team on the practice field on Tuesday. Classes at Nebraska began on Monday. Markway also posted a photo of a Nebraska helmet to social media.
After playing one season at LSU, head coach Brian Kelly shared that Mac Markway had made the decision that he wasn’t going to play there anymore. However, at the time Kelly spoke about his decision, he didn’t know if he’d be transferring or not.
At 6-foot-4, 250 lbs, Mac Markway seemed like he had a bright future with LSU. A former four-star recruit in the Class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, he made his impact felt as a freshman. He played in 12 games for the Tigers and had a touchdown catch against Georgia State in November.
