After declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft, former Missouri and Arkansas forward Trevon Brazile has withdrawn his name from the draft according to college basketball insider Jeff Goodman.

Brazile also entered the NCAA transfer portal this offseason after declaring for the draft, now returning to college basketball next season and reopening his recruitment ahead of the 2024-2025 college season.

College prospects who declared for the 2024 NBA Draft have until Wednesday, May 29 to withdraw their name from the draft pool if they’d like to return to college basketball and retain their eligibility. A decision Brazile has now made after participating in the NBA Draft Combine and receiving feedback from the league’s scouts and evaluators.

Brazile spent the first season of his college career with Mizzou, starting in 23 of his 25 game appearances as a true freshman where he averaged 6.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and a career-high 1.9 blocks per game for the 2021-2022 season. Ranking third overall in the SEC and sixth among Division I freshmen in blocks per game for the year.

Following one lone season with the Tigers Brazile joined Arkansas, appearing in just nine games as a sixth man for the Razorbacks in 2022 where he averaged a career-high 11.8 points per game. Also adding 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game to his sophomore stat line before suffering a season ending knee injury.

This past season Brazile averaged 8.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game for Arkansas under head coach Eric Musselman. Who has since moved on to become the head coach at USC and been replaced with former Kentucky head man John Calipari. Which Brazile acknowledged after entering the transfer portal and declaring for the draft.

“Arkansas made a big hire with John Calipari,” Brazile said to ESPN at the time. “I’m happy for the program, but am going out for my dreams. I’m all the way, 100% in the NBA Draft.”

At 6-foot-10, Brazile possesses impressive athleticism. Which he showed off at the NBA Combine with a 41.5 inch vertical jump and one of the emphatic dunks of the 2022-2023 college basketball season. Also shooting 35.4% from the three-point line in his 60 game college career and representing a player that will definitely be highly coveted by many programs in the transfer portal this offseason.
