Adrian Martinez – who just finished his fourth season as Nebraska’s quarterback – has found a new home, announcing that he’s transferring to Kansas State for his final year of eligibility. He entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Dec. 2.

A former four-star recruit in the On3 Consensus out of the Class of 2018, Martinez threw for 2,863 yards and 14 touchdowns with 10 interceptions in 2021. Over his four years in Lincoln, Martinez tallied 8,491 yards, 45 touchdowns and 30 interceptions, while recording 2,301 rushing yards and 35 more scores.

Martinez finished his Nebraska career as the program’s all-time leader in total offensive yards in a career with 10,792. He also ranks first in career completions with 670, career 300-yard total offense games with 19 and career 400-yard total offense games with five. Martinez also holds nearly every freshman single-season passing record.

A 6-foot-2, 212-pound signal-caller, Martinez is a native of Fresno, California and signed with Nebraska over offers from Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Miami, Oregon, Louisville, Tennessee, West Virginia, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt, among many others. He was down to Nebraska and Tennessee at the end of his recruitment, ultimately choosing to go with the Cornhuskers.

At the prep level, Martinez shined at Clovis West High School in Fresno. In addition to his numbers through the air, Martinez also rushed for 1,462 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Martinez and Nebraska went just 3-9 overall last season, with a 1-8 mark in Big Ten play. Kansas State is coming off a 7-5 campaign and will face LSU in the Texas Bowl on Jan. 4 in Houston.
