Report: Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch arrested for DUI
Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested for a DUI on Tuesday morning near the Las Vegas strip, according to a report from TMZ. Sources said Lynch was seen driving into curbs on the side of the road before police pulled him over.
Lynch did not submit to a breathalyzer, but police believed him to be drunk after speaking with him. He had his blood drawn before being taken to jail, and his mugshot was released a few hours later.
In addition to the DUI, Lynch is also facing charges of driving an unregistered vehicle, failure to stay in his lane and failure to surrender proof of security. As of Tuesday afternoon, he was still in the Las Vegas City Jail with a pending bail amount of $3,381.
This is not the first time that Marshawn Lynch has been arrested for a DUI. Back in July 2012 when he was playing with the Seattle Seahawks, the running back also had a run-in with police where it was suspected he was driving under the influence. However, the charge was later reduced to reckless driving after Lynch agreed to plead guilty.

A five-time Pro Bowler who spent 12 seasons in the NFL, Lynch was a member of the Seahawks team that won Super Bowl XLVIII in the 2013 season. He began his NFL career in 2007 with the Buffalo Bills and also spent two years with the Oakland Raiders. He finished as the league’s rushing touchdown leader during the 2012 and 2013 season and ended his career with a total of 10,413 yards rushing and 85 touchdowns.
Lynch’s arrest comes just one day after it was announced that the Seahawks planned to use him as a special correspondent on their broadcast this season. Lynch was reportedly doing “creative content for a variety of projects,” but that now seems in jeopardy given his current legal situation.
