The Wolverine shares their predictions for the Michigan vs. Texas game I #GoBlue

It’s no surprise that Michigan supporters aren’t huge fans of Urban Meyer after he went 7-0 against the Wolverines during his time at Ohio State.

Meyer and the rest of the Big Noon Kickoff crew are in Ann Arbor for the Michigan vs. Texas game on Saturday. The three-time national championship winning head coach had a little fun with the Michigan crowd to kick things off.

As FOX announcer Rob Stone introduced the Big Noon Kickoff cast, he got to Urban Meyer and got the fans riled up: “And Mr. 7-0 against Michigan, Urban Meyer,” Stone said.

Meyer was, of course, greeted with boos, before turning around to the crowd, standing up and yelling “O-H.” He did not get an I-O back and instead heard even louder boos.

While Meyer had plenty of success against Michigan during his time with the Buckeyes, it’s Michigan that has won three straight games against Ohio State, including last year on its way to a national championship.

In a few months we will learn if Michigan can make it four in a row against the Buckeyes or if Ohio State can end its losing skid to the Wolverines.

Urban Meyer compares Michigan quarterback battle to Chris Leak, Tim Tebow situation

Michigan is in an unusual predicament. Two weeks into the season, the Wolverines are still unsure who their best option at quarterback is. On Friday, former Florida and Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer offered Michigan some simple advice.

“I’d play them both,” Meyer said. “When I was the head coach of Florida, we had Chris Leak and Tim Tebow. And, I would have our coaches rank the players — top 15 in a row. If you’re in the top 11, you’re playing. Tim Tebow was always in the top 11, so he’s going to play.

Alex Orji — how do you not play this cat? He’s 235 pounds. I think he’s as good a runner, athlete as they have. He’s got to play. So don’t tell me about the scheme. Tell me how you get this kid the ball. He’s got to carry the ball for the Wolverines.”

In 2006, Tim Tebow was a highly-touted freshman sweeping onto the scene for the Gators. While he turned heads in practice, Meyer ultimately went with veteran QB Chris Leak as the team’s starter. Nonetheless, Meyer’s decision didn’t prevent him from utilizing both talents.
