On Tuesday, the Red Raiders announced they would be extending the contract of Adams through the 2026-2027 season. As Texas Tech continues to undergo changes with its athletics, mainly with conference realignment, Adams will be there to guide the basketball program and compete for championships.
During his first season with Texas Tech, Adams led them to a 27-10 record and 12-6 within the Big 12. They appeared in the Big 12 Tournament Championship, although they fell short to Kansas. In the NCAA Tournament, the Red Raiders made the Sweet 16 for just the eighth time in program history. The Red Raider fans are already loving what Adams has accomplished in just one season.
Before being named the head coach at Texas Tech, Adams spent six seasons being an assistant coach with Beard. Not just with the Red Raiders but also at Little Rock. His first time being a head coach of a major college basketball program is already off to a flying start. Now, he will have the opportunity to continue the success for at least another five seasons.
