Report: Former President Donald Trump, team making plans to attend Ohio State vs. Penn State game
Former president Donald Trump is reportedly planning another visit to a football game as the 2024 presidential election nears, with Yahoo! Sports’ Ross Dellenger reporting he plans to attend the Ohio State–Penn State game on Nov. 2.
The game will be played in State College, which means Donald Trump would be appearing in the heart of a key swing state for the election just three days before voters head to the polls.
Already this season Trump has visited the Alabama–Georgia game at the college level, while attending a Pittsburgh Steelers-New York Jets game at the professional level. It’s clearly a campaign tactic he has grown fond of, the chance to mingle with sports fans from around the country.
Suffice it to say, should Donald Trump’s plans end up finalized, it will add an additional layer of security to one of the biggest college football games of the year.
The stakes on the field — as well as at the polls — will be quite high.
Ohio State, Penn State pursuing playoff bid
In the new College Football Playoff era, access to the postseason field is much easier to come by. Still, you have to be quite a good team to make it.
Both Ohio State and Penn State qualify as such, though there’s still work to be done for both. The Buckeyes, in particular, don’t have quite as much margin for error.

Ohio State suffered its first loss of the season two weeks ago at Oregon, giving the program a little less wiggle room to work with. Securing a huge win at Penn State would obviously put the program right back on track.
That’s no given, though, particularly playing in Happy Valley.
Penn State will be itching to prove it can finally get over the hump against the big boys in the conference, as recent years have proven futile against the likes of Michigan and Ohio State. But the Nittany Lions have cruised to a 6-0 record so far.
Both teams have a tune-up test ahead of the key showdown in State College. Take care of that and all eyes can rest on the game that former president Donald Trump plans to appear at.
Ohio State and Penn State will play at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 2, with a national broadcast slated for FOX.
