Former Texas and Alabama receiver Agiye Hall reportedly did not join the UCF program after all.

Hall had announced intentions to play at UCF as a walk-on, but that did not happen, per Stephen Leonard.

Agiye Hall signed with Alabama as a four-star recruit and the No. 37 player in the country in the class of 2021, per the On3 Industry rankings. He was also ranked as the No. 4 receiver in the nation and the No. 9 overall player from the state of Florida.

Hall spent one season at Alabama, catching four passes for 72 yards in 2021. Hall then entered the transfer portal and ended up at Texas.

During the 2022 season, Agiye Hall played in three games, catching one pass for 7 yards. He was not a part of the Texas program in 2023.

It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Hall after coming to college a few years ago. He was arrested back in August of 2022 on criminal mischief charges and suspended indefinitely by Steve Sarkisian at the time.

“We’re aware of the situation involving Agiye Hall, have talked with his family, and have suspended him from all team activities for conduct that is detrimental to our program,” a program statement read.

Hall worked his way back into the mix for playing time as the season went on, appearing in contests versus UTSA, Texas Tech and West Virginia. His lone catch came in Lubbock against the Red Raiders.

After playing in three games, Sarkisian was asked in mid-October about his plans for Hall in the remainder of the season.

“As far as Agiye goes, obviously it’s been a bit of a journey since he’s been here,” Sarkisian said October 20, 2022. “He’s had some ups and had some downs. At this moment in time, if we can preserve his redshirt I think that would be in the best interest of him and the best interest of us.”

Had Agiye Hall joined the UCF program, he would have played for Gus Malzahn in Orlando.

Malzahn is entering his fourth season at UCF after spending eight seasons as the head coach at Auburn.

The Knights won nine games in both 2021 and 2022, before moving over to the Big 12 conference for the 2023 season. UCF finished with a 6-7 (3-6) record in 2023. They will reportedly be without Hall heading into Year 2 in the Big 12.
