Former Texas, Alabama WR Agiye Hall to walk-on at UCF
Former Texas and Alabama wide receiver Agiye Hall will walk-on to UCF and join the Knights’ football program under Gus Malzahn, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos.
Per Wiltfong and Nakos, Hall enrolled at UCF this past semester as a student and will join the team soon. Hall played briefly at Texas after he left Alabama.
He ended up entering the portal back in December of 2022 to leave Texas. He played just three games for the Longhorns and logged one catch for seven yards.
During his one season at Alabama, Hall caught just four passes for 72 yards in 2021.
As a member of the Class of 2021, Hall was a four-star recruit out of Valrico (Fla.) Bloomingdale, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 9 overall prospect in the state, the No. 4 wide receiver in the class and the No. 37 overall prospect in the class.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride for Hall since coming to college a few years ago. He was arrested back in August 2022 on criminal mischief charges and suspended indefinitely by Steve Sarkisian at the time.
“We’re aware of the situation involving Agiye Hall, have talked with his family, and have suspended him from all team activities for conduct that is detrimental to our program,” a program statement read.
Hall worked his way back into the mix for playing time as the season went on, appearing in contests versus UTSA, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. His lone catch came in Lubbock against the Red Raiders.

After playing in three games, Sarkisian was asked in mid-October about his plans for Hall in the remainder of the season.
“As far as Agiye goes, obviously it’s been a bit of a journey since he’s been here,” Sarkisian said October 20, 2022. “He’s had some ups and had some downs. At this moment in time, if we can preserve his redshirt I think that would be in the best interest of him and the best interest of us.”
