Former Texas A&M guard Bryce Lindsay will transfer to play for James Madison in 2024-25, he announced Tuesday via Instagram. He spent just one year with the Aggies but had his freshman season cut short due to injury.

Lindsay appeared in just eight games this past season to average 1.8 points per game. Now he’ll begin a new chapter of his college career with the Dukes.

As a recruit, Lindsay was a three-star prospect coming out of IMG Academy. He ranked as the No. 188 overall player and No. 40 shooting guard in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Bryce Lindsay is the fifth Texas A&M player to enter the transfer portal this offseason. The Aggies have also brought in a couple of transfer guards in CJ Wilcher and Zhuric Phelps, so playing time likely would have been difficult for him to come by coming off of an injury.

Lindsay is set to join a James Madison squad coming off of a 32-4 finish this past season that saw it earn a No. 12 seed in the NCAA Tournament. With several key players from that team set to move on, Lindsay will have a chance to step in right away.

Nebraska guard CJ Wilcher transfers to Texas A&M

Nebraska transfer CJ Wilcher has committed to Texas A&M, he announced Monday morning on Instagram.

Wilcher averaged 7.7 points and 1.5 rebounds per game last season, including scoring two points against the Aggies in last year’s NCAA Tournament game.

The New Jersey native was ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 108 overall player in the country in the class of 2020, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

CJ Wilcher signed with Xavier out of high school. As a freshman that season, he played in 15 games and averaged 3.3 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.

Wilcher then entered the transfer portal and eventually landed at Nebraska.

He was a key piece off the bench in 2021-22, averaging 8.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game as the sixth man for the Cornhuskers.
