USC transfer defensive lineman Stanley Ta'ufo'ou commits to Arizona
Former USC defensive lineman Stanley Ta’ufo’ou has officially committed to Arizona after entering the NCAA transfer portal last month, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Ta’ufo’ou spent all five season of his college career at USC prior to his commitment to the Wildcats, joining Arizona and new head coach Jedd Fisch as a graduate transfer prior to their transition to the Big 12 Conference.
After appearing in just five games during his first two seasons with the Trojans, Ta’ufo’ou became a starter on USC’s defensive line during his redshirt sophomore year in 2021. Recording 18 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss after appearing in all 12 games of the season with nine starts.
2022 was Ta’ufo’ou’s standout season in Los Angeles, logging 27 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and two fumble recoveries in his 14 games appearances (13 starts). All of which as career highs as he played a role in USC’s appearances in the Pac-12 Championship game and the Cotton Bowl.
Last season Ta’ufo’ou appeared in 12 games and made nine tackles, also recording .5 a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery he took to the house for a 23 yard touchdown against Nevada in Week 1.

Ta’ufo’ou played high school football at Grace Brethren High School in Simi Valley (CA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 753 overall recruit and the No. 79 defensive lineman in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
And after entering the transfer portal, Ta’ufo’ou was again rated a three-star college prospect ranked the No. 805 overall player nationally and the No. 47 defensive lineman available in the transfer portal this offseason according to On3’s College Football Transfer Portal Top Player Rankings.
