2024 4-star S Jaylen Heyward plans to announce his commitment this week
Rockledge (Fla.) four-star safety Jaylen Heyward released a top six of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee on Oct. 28. In just over two months, that list has “shaken up a little bit.” Tennessee is out and Colorado is in. And Heyward is ready to commit to one of those six schools.
“I will be announcing my commitment Friday, Jan. 13,” Heyward told On3. “I was thinking about taking some visits and listening to some other schools, but I am ready.”
Colorado is the new school. Deion Sanders put the Buffaloes in this race. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan and Ohio State have been very consistent with Heyward over the last few months. Clemson, Florida State, Miami and Penn State have tried to join in, but the No. 3 safety in the 2024 On3 Consensus is ready.
“The recruiting process has opened my eyes a lot. Communication has been strong, schools have shown me that they want me and that made a difference. I am going to commit to the school that has shown me that home vibe. That is what’s most important to me.
