Ben Ahmed, a four-star center in the 2025 class, tells On3 he’s committed to Oklahoma State and head coach Steve Lutz.

The 6-foot-10 senior out of Putnam Science (Putnam, CT) was previously signed to Miami but reopened his recruitment after head coach Jim Larrañaga stepped down.

This go around, Ahmed chose Oklahoma State over Penn State and Boston College.

Ahmed is the No. 74 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 7 center prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Ahmed on his commitment to Oklahoma State

Ben Ahmed went in-depth on his decision to choose Oklahoma State.

“It was just the right fit with my playstyle and what they’re doing with their big men right now. As a big who wouldn’t want to play there?”

What led to his trust in the coaching staff?

“Just seeing how they developed their players and how family-oriented the coaching staff are with their players.”

In his own words, what type of player is Oklahoma State getting in Ahmed?

“I’m a post player that can score the ball on both sides of the block and a great rebounder.”

He has a message for Oklahoma State fans.

“I’m excited to be a Cowboy and the goal is to win and I’ll always try to help the team win in any way I can.”

Scouting Report

“Ben Ahmed is a lengthy, big bodied big man on the block. His game is played around the basket out to 15 feet. While being a below the rim big, he has excellent touch and feet on the block. He has multiple go-to moves to get over his right shoulder. He has big, passer-friendly hands and is a solid area rebounder. There will be questions about his stamina and how well he moves. That will lead to continued defensive questions. He uses his body very well to carve out space. He accepts contact and finishes well at the rim. He has shooting touch and can knock down his free throws. Has good feet. An intriguing low block finisher.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
