Styles Phipps, On3’s No. 83 overall player in the 2024 class, has committed to Grand Canyon.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound four-star combo guard is staying local, choosing Bryce Drew and the Anteloupes over offers from TCU, Boston College, Washington, Missouri, Washington State, and others.

“I chose to stay home and commit to GCU,” Phipps said to On3. “Ultimately because of the winning culture that’s being built and the relationship I’ve built with Bryce Drew and the rest of the staff. Coach Drew has developed some high level talented guards from Darius Garland and Jovan Blacksher. Being that I’m a point guard, I believe the staff will show me the ways just like those before me. I’m just excited to display all my skills, and develop into a pro!”

In his own words, what type of player is GCU getting in Phipps?

“A point guard, who leads his teams to wins! That’s always the main goal for me. Whether it’s through scoring, passing, or getting a stop on defense. A student of the game that’ll progressively get better everyday!”

Phipps, of Phoenix St. Mary’s, has a message to Grand Canyon fans.

“I’m excited to play in front of the GCU Havocs! And being blessed to stay in my hometown of Arizona!”
