4-star defensive back Joenel Aguero hints at upcoming decision
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy safety Joenel Aguero is one of the most prized prospects in the 2023, and he could be making a decision very soon.
Aguero, the No. 31 player in the industry-generated On3 Consensus, tweeted Thursday night, “I’m ready to make a decision” with the eyeballs emoji.
Over the summer, the four-star safety took visits to Alabama, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Ohio State.
In July, he publicly released his top 12 schools, which included Alabama, Boston College, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Texas. The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder has only made one visit this fall due to COVID restrictions and IMG’s national schedule, and that trip came Oct. 2 to Georgia.

“It just felt good when I was at Georgia,” Joenel Aguero told On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons last month. “I liked everything about Georgia. I have strong relationships with Coach Smart, Coach (Will) Muschamp, and coach (Jahmile) Addae. So my connections there are great.”
He told Simmons then that he would like to visit Ohio State and one other school this fall, but so far, those trips haven’t materialized.
