4-star Georgia commit Tyre West sets pair of SEC visits this week
Coming off an official visit to Florida State this weekend, Tifton (Ga.) Tift County defensive lineman Tyre West has set a pair of official visits for this week.
West, a longtime Georgia commit, told 247Sports that he will visit Auburn in the middle of this week and will head to Tennessee next weekend.
West has been committed to Georgia for more than a year, but has started looking around in recent weeks. He tripped to Auburn for an unofficial visit last weekend and previously made a mid-week visit to Florida State earlier this fall.
On3’s Auburn Live first reported West’s planned visit to Tennessee. And at the time, he said he could take an official visit to Auburn mid-week. That visit now appears to be set in stone. The early signing period begins on Dec. 15.
“It might be during the week, but I’ll definitely be back,” West said. “I’m looking very hard at Auburn.”

Tyre West is serious flip candidate
On3’s flip forecast says there’s a 60% chance that West changes his commitment.
One of the Seminoles’ biggest pitches to West is the opportunity to come in as a freshman and see significant playing time. It’s a message that has resonated with him to this point. West has been on FSU’s campus a number of times since he committed to Georgia. That’s a sure sign that things are moving in the Noles’ direction.
The Bulldogs already have two of the top 10 defensive linemen in the 2022 class committed: five-star Mykel Williams and four-star Bear Alexander. They also remain in contention for five-star Shemar Stewart and four-stars Nyjalik Kelly, Hero Kanu and Christen Miller. Georgia also signed three defensive linemen each in the 2020 and 2021 recruiting cycles.
