Four-star Devin Williams sets commitment date
Class of 2023 four-star prospect Devin Williams will announce his college decision on Sunday, August 28th between UCLA and USC.
The 6-foot-10, 200-pound power forward from Corona (Calif.) Centennial also received offers from Texas Tech, UNLV, Xavier, Washington, and others.
USC hosted Williams on an official visit on June 9th, whereas UCLA hosted him earlier this week.
Williams is the No. 70 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 power forward and the No. 15 player in the state of California.
On3’s evaluators are much higher than the industry on Williams, ranking him 25th overall in the class.
Williams talks finalists
UCLA: “Coach (Mick) Cronin and the coaching staff and I clicked right away from the start. Their program is very successful in the NCAA tournament and I love the way coach Cronin coaches his team. A lot of Compton Magic guys do great at UCLA and I’m very excited to take my official visit.”

USC: “USC has been recruiting me for a very long time. The bigs are very successful that come out of (Andy) Enfield’s program. Coach Enfield, the coaching staff, and I have built a great relationship together over this time and love the people on campus.”
In a previous interview with On3, Devin Williams talked more about UCLA and USC.
UCLA: “Great coaching staff over there. Coach (Mick) Cronin keeps it a hundred with you and that’s what I love about him. It’s out in Westwood in Los Angeles which is a great location. The team is great every year and they’re back on that winning run like they used to be. Honestly, UCLA is a great experience and a great environment overall.”
USC: “It’s on the other side of Los Angeles. I’m very, very close with the coaching staff. We clicked right away when they started recruiting me. Love all those dudes over there for sure. They do a great job with their big men and the main goal is to get to the NBA and they do a pretty good job of doing that. They also make the tournament almost every year.”
