Four-star EDGE prospect J'Mond Tapp commits to the Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns are officially on a fire on the recruiting trail.
Hours after On300 No. 69 Jaray Bledsoe (Marlin, Texas) committed, Steve Sarkisian stuck on again on defense
On300 No. 152 and EDGE prospect J’Mond Tapp (Donaldsville, LA./Ascension Catholic) said yes to Texas.
The 6-foot-3, 249-pound JACK linebacker prospect selected the Longhorns over LSU, Florida and Alabama. He considered over 20 offers all told. Texas was the lone official visit Tapp made in June.
Tapp becomes the 20th commitment in the 2022 cycle for Texas. The Longhorns Top 10 class includes 11 members of the On300.

The Longhorns remain in the hunt for a Top 5 class with more than 10 On300 prospects still considering the Longhorns.
The commitment of Tapp adds to Steve Sarkisian’s Pelicn State haul since being hired. The Longhorns inked a pair of prospects from Louisiana in the 2021 cycle, and now have two more in 2022. Tapp joins Warren Easton defensive back Ronald Lewis from the uber talented state.
Tapp tallied 64 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as a junior.
