Carr on his commitment to New Mexico State
“I chose New Mexico State because it felt like family,” Carr said to On3. “The environment and the energy I got from the team and staff made me want be apart of the program.”
What type of player is NM State getting in Darius Carr?
“The program is getting a dog and an aggressive guard who loves to make plays for his team and himself,” he says. “I’m also the best two-way player in America and an elite defender.”
Scouting Summary
Darius Carr’s explosion pops off the page immediately. He is a quick-twitch guard who touches the paint and finishes above the rim with ferocity. His length and pop give him the tools to be a high-end on-the-ball defender. The jump shot is streaky, but he is confident with it, especially off the bounce. He can get to his spots in the mid-range. A score-first combo guard, there is some electricity in his game. – On3’s Jamie Shaw
