Four-Star LB Raul "Popo" Aguirre narrows list, sets commitment date
Four-star linebacker Raul “Popo” Aguirre of Fayetteville (GA) Whitewater High has narrowed his list to six schools– Ohio State, Miami, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Arkansas.
The 6-foot-3, 220 pounder will announce his college decision on July 16th.
Aguirre went in-depth on his finalists.
Ohio State
“This school was definitely a school my pops has always liked,” Aguirre said. “As I got to see it, it’s a great group of coaches and definitely a team that’s going to compete for the national championship every year. Coach Knowles is a great coach man, I love it.”
Miami
“Ever since I was a kid Miami has always been my favorite school,” Aguirre said. “Just the swag and I’m originally from Miami, so the love will definitely always be there. My dad has a great relationship with all the coaches from highschool so that’s special to me.”
Alabama
“I finally got to see it for myself, and it’s different,” Aguirre said. “The standards are high and it’s definitely a great program.”

“I love everything about it ,” Aguirre said. “Coach Bateman and coach Napier are great coaches, and also a great coaching staff. Florida is definitely a team that’s always going to compete for a national championship every year.”
Georgia
“Great coaching staff man and great program,” Aguirre said. “If you want to be developed go to UGA.”
Arkansas
“Their time is now and they got lots of new big time players and I love the program.”
Aguirre ranks as the No. 131 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 9 linebacker and the No. 9 player in the state of Georgia.
