4-star linebacker Arvell Reese picks up USC, Ohio State offers
After leading a largely regional recruitment over the past year, Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville linebacker Arvell Reese is blowing up in a big way. After receiving an offer from Ohio State on his visit earlier Tuesday, Reese was offered tonight by USC.
“Honored to receive an offer from the University of Southern California,” Reese wrote on Twitter.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder is the No. 215 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 18 linebacker and the No. 5 junior prospect in Ohio.
In addition to the Trojans and Buckeyes, Reese holds nearly 15 other offers including West Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Purdue among others. But the offer on Tuesday from Ohio State was a major one.
“It feels amazing,” Reese told Lettermen Row. “Just to know a school like that has offered me. I actually didn’t expect it. It maybe it could come down the line I thought so when [Day] offered I was pretty excited. I couldn’t get the smile off of my face.”

There is no plan for an immediate commitment from Arvell Reese. He still plans to make official visits in the summer and his recruitment is just picking up. After those visits happen, a decision could come.
“I need to just keep my head down and focused on school,” he said. “There’s no time to get caught up in anything. I will focus on school and work on becoming a better football player.
