Class of 2023 four-star prospect Parker Friedrichsen tells On3 he’s narrowed his list of schools down to five: Davidson, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Northwestern, and Rice.

The 6-foot-4, 165-pound shooting guard from Bixby, Okla. was previously committed to Oklahoma State before reopening his recruitment in May. In addition to the Cowboys, Friedrichsen took junior official visits to Nebraska, Davidson, Iowa, and Purdue. Cincinnati and Xavier both hosted him unofficially earlier this summer.

Made evident by his list cut, Nebraska and Davidson are the only two programs still involved out of the schools that have hosted Friedrichsen on campus. The Oklahoma native also received scholarship offers from Memphis, Missouri, Illinois, SMU, Oklahoma, and others.

Friedrichsen is the No. 111 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 26 shooting guard and the No. 2 player in the state of Oklahoma. On3’s evaluators are slightly higher than the industry on Friedrichsen, ranking him 104th nationally.

In the month of July, Friedrichsen averaged 19.3 points and 2.9 assists, shooting 43.6 percent from three while playing with KC Run on the Under Armour UAA Circuit.

All five senior year official visits have been scheduled

Parker Friedrichsen has wasted no time scheduling his next five official visits for his senior year. Below is his visit schedule.

  • Notre Dame: August 26-28
  • Davidson: August 30-September 1
  • Rice: September 2-4
  • Nebraska: September 9-11
  • Northwestern: September 16-18

Friedrichsen discusses his final five schools

Davidson: “Obviously the greatest shooter in the game came from there (Steph Curry) and being able to try to follow in his footsteps and that system would be cool.”

Nebraska: “Great school with a very passionate fanbase. Been being recruited by them for over a year now so we got a strong relationship.”

Northwestern: “Obviously the academic speak for itself, Coach (Chris) Collins and B Mac (Bryant McIntosh) are showing me why it’s such a good fit and that there is opportunity.”

Notre Dame: “A very prestigious school on the academic side once again, but ACC is good basketball obviously and Coach (Mike) Brey has done well with players like myself.”

Rice: “My very first scholarship offer. Been in my process for two years now, built a strong relationship I talk to Coach (Scott) Pera and Coach (Van) Green almost every day.”

Friedrichsen would like to make a decision after he concludes his official visits.

“I will probably have a decision in late September or early October and then sign in November,” he said to On3’s Jamie Shaw.

What’s Parker Friedrichsen looking for in a school?

“For me, it will just be my relationship with the staff and how I relate to the players. I’ll look closely at where I can fit in with the team. I just want that opportunity to play if I earn it. Also, academically, being in a good spot sets me up for life after hoops.

“I’ll go play anywhere, so location doesn’t really matter. Level doesn’t matter to me, either. I just want a great fit. I want to see myself in a great system; a fast-paced controlled freedom offense suits me best. A coach that lets their guys go but also has great sets when needed.”
