Four-Star Safety Jordan Pride decommits from Florida State

Four-star safety Jordan Pride of Blountstown (FL) High announced his decommitment from Florida State Wednesday night.

The 6-foot-2, 175 pounder had been committed to the Seminoles since July 2021.

Pride sent a statement to On3 regarding his decommitment:

“First off I want to thank Coach Norvell, the whole Florida State staff for giving me the opportunity, and showing so much love. Was a hard choice but with that being said, I will be reopening my recruitment.”

“Jordan Pride played his first two seasons of high school football at Blountstown (Florida) High before transferring for parts of his junior season to IMG Academy in Bradenton. He played a handful of games at IMG before returning back to Blountstown. Pride helped Blountstown make the state semifinals of Florida’s 1M playoffs with 20 tackles, two interceptions and 667 yards and six touchdown grabs in seven games in 2022. As a sophomore, he was named to multiple all-state teams after racking up 375 yards and six touchdowns while recording 28 tackles and two interceptions. Pride is also a state qualifier in track in the 100-meter dash and the high jump. He also plays varsity basketball. Pride lists his favorite food as steak, and he plans on majoring in business in college. His mother is Latoya Pride, and his father is Johnnie Pride.”

Pride ranks as the No. 103 player according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 6 safety and the No. 15 player in the state of Florida.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $129K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
