Freddie Dilione talks officials; looks to set Texas, Alabama visits
Freddie Dilione is the No. 59 player in On3’s 2023 rankings. The 6-foot-5 guard is averaging 22.5 points per game for Team Loaded NC, third on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.
“I’m shooting the ball consistently,” Dilione told On3. “That is my main thing, that and my decision-making in the pick and roll.”
College coaches have taken notice of the numbers Dilione is putting up this summer as his recruitment has gone to another level since April. On3 caught up with Freddie Dilione to talk about visits and where things stand overall in his recruitment.
“I recently visited Tennessee; I’ve taken officials to Virginia and VCU, too,” Dilione said. “I have a visit set with UConn on July 28-30.”
Dilione talks visits
Tennessee: “They’re really big on skill development and getting guys to the next level. They are like a big family over there. It’s just a great organization they have.”
Virginia: “I really like the staff. I like how they are recruiting me, and we got along really well when I went up there.”
VCU: “The people over there are great, and not just the coaching staff. The fans over there, they show a lot of love. Ram Nation is very big, and they show a lot of love.”

UConn: “I have family up there in the northeast. They have been on me hard, and the staff is showing a lot of love. Kemba Walker went there too.”
Remaining visits
“I’d like to set something up with Alabama and Texas, go see them,” Dilione said. “I’m trying to get some blue bloods; North Carolina and Kentucky have been in contact some.”
Alabama: “I like the way they play; it fits me. Coach Nate Oats has really prioritized me.”
Texas: “I like their coaching staff; they are recruiting me hard. They like how I can play on the ball or off the ball, my versatility.”
Dilione’s take
“I’d like to start cutting my list toward the end of July,” Dilione said. “I like playing in a fast-paced system; whoever gets the ball, they go. I like playing in the pick and roll and making reads.
“You can tell when someone really wants you, so I will be looking at the bond the team has.”
