Freshman Ryan Williams on the radar, notes from sectional meet
Mobile, Ala. – Ryan Williams is one of the top 2025 wide receiver prospects in the country.
The 6-foot-1, 165-pound receiver and a number of future FBS football players are taking part in the AHSAA McGill-Toolen track sectionals on the campus of South Alabama Friday and Saturday.
The next national recruit out of Saraland High left zero doubt about his speed ripping off a 10.73 FAT 100 meter time Friday afternoon. He’s expected to post a sub-22.0 in the 200 meters as well.
Williams has been hot on the recruiting trail of late too picking up six offers since the end of football the regular season.
“I have West Virginia, FSU, Troy, Mississippi State, Tennessee and UCF,” Williams told On3 Friday. “Tennessee was the most recent. That was last week.”
Williams hasn’t begun the communication with college staff of yet. All offers are made through the Saraland coaching staff.
“They are calling my coach and telling him they are offering me.”
Williams has plans to camp at Florida State, Tennessee and Mississippi State for sure this summer. He will also make it to more camps as the regional offers come in next month.

The speedy playmaker caught 27 passes for 289 yards, and rushed seven times for 117 yards and six touchdowns as a freshman. He is the son of former Auburn Tigers cornerback Ryan Williams.
Notes from the meet:
On3 Consensus 3-star linebacker Karmelo Overton competed in the 110 high hurdles. The 6-foot-0, 197-pounder has Arkansas and Mississippi State standing out among 18 offers headed into spring football Monday.
Class of 2024 athlete Keyshawn Cole turned heads with a 10.80 FAT 100 meters Friday. Baylor, Troy and Western Kentucky are showing serious interest. The high school quarterback projects to slot receiver long term.
Class of 2024 receiver Perry Thompson currently sports an offers from Troy and Georgia Southern. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder is also receiving interest from Florida, Auburn and UCF. He has been on spring visits to Florida, Auburn, Alabama, UCF and USC.
Junior receiver Harrison Knight heads into spring football with offers from Coastal Carolina, South Alabama, Troy, Southern Miss and Georgia Southern. He is receiving interest from SEC, ACC and Big 10 programs.
