Sundra talks finalists
In a previous interview with On3, Garrett Sundra broke down each of his final schools.
Virginia Tech: “Virginia Tech is the closest option to home. I have tons of family that went to Virginia Tech or are going there now. I really like how straight forward and honest the coaching staff is. I also think that they have had some talented power forwards in the past few years.”
Providence: “I knew the coaching staff when they were at George Mason. They would always come to our school to watch us. I like coach (Kim) English and I can connect with the staff a lot. One of our former players Josh Oduro has had lots of success under coach English.”

Butler: “They started recruiting me after Peach Jam last year. I took an official visit out to Butler last fall. I thought the coaches were great and had a lot of character. Coach (Thad) Matta is a very successful coach and has put together a great staff along side him. It was super cool seeing Hinkle Fieldhouse after watching Hoosiers when I was a kid.”
Notre Dame: “Coach (Micah) Shrewsberry had a great year last year at Penn State. I think he lets his guys play very freely. Coach Shrewsberry likes to shoot a lot of threes which is the way I like to play. I’m excited to get out to campus and check it out this summer. I also like the way coach Shrewsberry treats his players off the court.”
Miami: “Miami was at a lot of our open gyms in the fall. They use size and versatility very well. Coach Larrañega coached one of my high school coaches at George Mason. The Hurricanes showed a lot of consistency and toughness throughout the whole season.”
