Gentry Williams injury update: Oklahoma DB's status determined vs. South Carolina
Both Oklahoma and South Carolina will be looking to bounce back from losses when they face each other Saturday in Norman. We now have a better idea of the availability of some players for that game, as the initial injury report was revealed Wednesday.
The Sooners have been the walking wounded in recent weeks with nearly their entire receiving corps and a few key defensive backs missing games. They are coming off of a 34-3 loss against rival Texas this past week that saw names such as Deion Burks, Jalil Farooq, Kendal Dolby and more all miss.
As for the Gamecocks, they were without receiver Jared Brown as well as a handful of defensive players including defensive backs Jalewis Solomon and Kelvin Hunter in last week’s game against Alabama. They’ll be names to keep an eye on for this week as well.

OU will hope it can at least get some of its receivers back as its offense has looked dismal the past few games. Coach Brent Venables said Tuesday that Burks is trying to “defy all odds” and play, per SoonerScoop’s George Stoia III.
Venables reportedly said Burks is up to 80% healthy during Tuesday’s press conference. Either way, he knows his team has to find some life offensively after failing to score a touchdown last week. However, he isn’t sounding the alarm just yet.
“Well, certainly (it’s concerning),” Venables said. “Your perspective is you’ve got a brand new quarterback in there too who just started his second game and his first action was against the number six team in the country. His second start was against the number one team in the country. So, you’ve got to have perspective on all of it and not be quick to judge and have the eye for what it is.”
Kickoff between Oklahoma and South Carolina is set for 11:45 p.m. CT on Saturday in Norman.
