Georgia and Wake Forest have done early legwork for MVP Bishop Boswell
Bishop Boswell was named the Most Valuable Player of the North Carolina 4-A state championship game on Saturday. The four-star guard finished with 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
The Charlotte (NC) Myers Park junior turned things up when the lights were the brightest, helping his high school win its first state title in 72 years. Boswell, a 6-foot-3 guard, toggled seamlessly between playing on and off the ball.
The former power-five football recruit guarded both opponent’s best players each game, holding four-star shooting guards Isaiah Evans and Paul McNeil to a combined 13-for-37 (35.1%) from the field and 6-for-24 (25%) from three through the state semifinals and finals.
As for Boswell’s offensive output over the past two weekends, he combined to shoot 15-for-25 (60%) from the field and 5-for-10 (50%) from three. He also added 11 total rebounds and six assists over the two games.

Boswell’s recruitment
When On3 last spoke with Bishop Boswell, Wake Forest and Georgia were the two schools recruiting him the hardest. The guard has taken unofficial visits to both programs, but he has not set up any official visit dates yet.
Boswell started his high school career at Charlotte (NC) South Mecklenburg High as a dual-sport athlete. He was garnering high major football attention while also carrying an early offer from Houston in basketball. His transfer to Myers Park High this summer saw him set the football aside to focus on the hardwood.
On3 first moved Boswell into the top 100 of the 2024 On3 150 in June. He now sits in the top-75 for three of the four major recruiting services. Boswell is the No. 63 player in the updated On3 2024 Player Ranking.
