More on Georgia vs. Auburn

“Last year, we could score more points,” head coach Bruce Pearl said, via Auburn Live. “To be there, defensively, without Walker or Jabari, is really good. We have to hang our hat on that, we just can’t give up easy stuff in transition. We have to do a good job of guarding in the half court. It’s not going to be quite as up and down.”

Georgia actually handled Auburn the last time out. The Bulldogs took down the Tigers 76-64 before the Tigers ripped off five straight wins.

Auburn is in the midst of a two-game losing streak but with another crack at Georgia, the Tigers can get some payback.

“We look at them as opportunities,” Pearl said of the upcoming schedule.

Head coach Mike White said on Tuesday though that his team will need to play even better.

“Huge challenge. It’s a top-25 program. It’s a team that just had a big home loss. They’ve got negative momentum at home. They’ve only won 25 of 26 at home. They’re really, really good,” White said, jokingly through part of the response. “It was our best win of the year, our best performance of the year, and it wasn’t their best performance. We’ve got to play better. We’ve got to be even more sharp defensively.

“Probably have got to make some hard ones. They defend the three as well as anybody in the country, and it’ll be a really tough environment. It’s going to have to be our best performance, obviously, to have a chance.”
