Georgia QB Carson Beck enters transfer portal
Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has entered the transfer portal, multiple sources tell On3. The two-time national champion immediately becomes the top quarterback in the transfer portal. Beck previously announced his plans to enter the 2025 NFL draft but will instead enter college football’s free agency.
Beck officially entered the transfer portal on Thursday night with a do not contact sign, which typically signifies the athlete knows what schools he wants to look at.
Sources indicate there are three teams to watch, with Miami being the school getting the most buzz initially.
Beck injured his UCL in his right elbow in the SEC championship game and missed the second half. He was not available during Georgia’s College Football Playoff run, missing the Allstate Sugar Bowl. He recently underwent surgery to repair his arm.
The former four-star recruit was viewed as a possible first-round NFL draft prospect entering this season. He struggled at times, throwing for 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions along with 3,485 yards. He threw three interceptions in three different games.

Carson Beck is now in recovery and training mode, preparing for the 2025 season. He is expected to be one of the highest-paid transfers in college football history. The Jacksonville native has one year of eligibility remaining and is expected to evaluate some quarterback-needy teams as possible destinations.
The Bulldogs went 11-3 on the season, capturing their second SEC title since 2022. He’s thrown for 7,912 yards and 58 touchdowns in his Georgia career. He won’t be able to start throwing until spring.
“Obviously, when you look at the stats, they aren’t the same stats as the year before,” Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo recently said of Beck. “But the goal is, if you’re in this league, is to win the SEC championship. And he was the quarterback of that team that got us to that game and put us in that position.”
