Much has been made about the schedule Georiga is going to play this season. Not too many tests appear on there. Well, one game people have circled as a game we could learn something about Kirby Smart‘s team is coming on Saturday. South Carolina will travel to Athens, with an SEC East rivalry taking place at Samford Stadium.

Unfortunately, the oddsmakers do not believe Georgia is going to get a real test. According to Fan Duel, Georgia begins the week as a 26.5-point favorite. It’s a huge spread for any college football game, let alone an SEC divisional matchup. There is not much faith in South Carolina coming out of Las Vegas.

Georgia will enter Saturday’s contest 2-0, while South Carolina is 1-1. Shane Beamer saw his team bounce back at home against Furman with a convincing win. The Week 1 performance against North Carolina was not too convincing, taking a beating in Charlotte.

The South Carolina offensive line truly struggled, giving up nine sacks. Quarterback Spencer Rattler was under pressure all night and never really had a moment to think.

Unfortunately, they will now be playing against one of the best defensive lines in the country. Georgia will likely be amped up to go up against a Power Five opponent as well, previously taking down UT-Martin and Ball State.

Samford Stadium is undoubtedly going to be bumping for the matchup. CBS will have the broadcast, kicking off the final season of the SEC on CBS. However, the oddsmakers believe there might be a blowout on our hands.

Georgia, South Carolina continue SEC East rivalry

Since Smart took over as the Georgia head coach, he has dominated South Carolina. This will be the eighth meeting since the 2016 season, with the Bulldogs coming out on top six times. However, those in Columbia will remember the one win they got pretty well.

Out of nowhere, South Carolina was able to pull off an upset in 2019 with Will Muschamp leading the way. Some kicking miscues caused Georgia some harm, resulting in a one-point loss. One of the weirder wins suffered in the modern era of the program.

It was the lone regular season loss for Smart, potentially ruining their chances at making the College Football Playoff. They did still win the SEC East but ran into the juggernaut that was the 2019 LSU Tigers.

Being undefeated heading into Atlanta and maybe there is a different story written.
