College football’s Game of the Year might be taking place next Saturday night. In what should be a top-three matchup, the Georgia Bulldogs will play host to the Tennessee Volunteers at Sanford Stadium. Both Kirby Smart and Josh Heupel have their teams undefeated, with the SEC East at stake.

The Volunteers have been the hot topic of the season but the national champions are the national champions for a reason. At least that’s how Vegas Insider views it, with the Bulldogs opening up as 12.5-point favorites. Nobody has been able to stop Tennessee this season but for now, they expect Georgia to do exactly that.

One of the more underrated rivalries in the SEC, it’s been Georgia coming out on top in recent seasons. And in convincing fashion as well. Smart lost his first matchup vs. Tennessee in 2016 but since then, he has five straight wins by an average of 28.6 points per game.

As for this season’s matchup, the main story will be Hendon Hooker and Jalin Hyatt going up against the Bulldogs’ defense. Heupel has been dialing up the duo all season and nobody has been able to stop them. Smart will give it his best go, as opponents are averaging just 10.5 points per game against them right now.

Whoever gets the win will seemingly have a seat at Dec. 4’s SEC Championship to represent the East. Georgia has been a mainstay in Atlanta, representing the division in four out of the last five years. Vol Nation has not migrated down there in quite some time, last competing for a conference title in 2007.

Fans across the country will have a fun week of excitement leading up to this game. With CBS broadcasting it, the intensity of the matchup maybe even bigger. A good one is on the way, even if Vegas thinks Georgia is the considerable favorite.
