From March 2024 to Oct. 17, 2024, 2026 five-star quarterback Jared Curtis was committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. He backed off of his pledge in after seven months to re-evaluate his options. Three months later, the ‘Dawgs are still pushing hard to land the elite passer out of Nashville.

On Thursday, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart made an in-home visit to see Curtis. Smart’s visit follows offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s in-home visit last week.

Despite Curtis’ decommitment, On3’s Steve Wiltfong said Wednesday that he still likes where the Bulldogs stand in this recruitment.

Last weekend, Curtis told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he had scheduled three official visitsOregon (June 6-8), Georgia (June 13-15) and South Carolina (June 20-22). He is set to unofficially visit Alabama the weekend of February 1 for its junior day.

Named in Curtis’ top six last week were Oregon, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn and Ohio State.

This fall, Curtis was named the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year. The junior gunslinger led the Eagles to a 13-1 record and a state title in the fall. Across 14 games, he threw for 2,830 yards and 40 touchdowns while also rushing for 637 yards and an additional 18 scores.

Curtis is the nation’s No. 4 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 1 QB in the class and the top-ranked recruit from the state of Tennessee.
