Georgia might not have been able to repeat with the No. 1 class in the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings, but that doesn’t mean the Bulldogs are bringing in a shortage of talent.

They have four five-star signees this cycle, led by Savannah Christian Prep (Ga.) five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin, who was ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect in the country in the final 2025 On300 rankings on Thursday.

He also maintains his status as a Five-Star Plus+ prospect — meaning he is ranked as one of the nation’s top 32 recruits by all four major recruiting media services.

Griffin was one of UGA’s top targets for the entirety of this cycle, but his recruitment and relationship with the Bulldogs started all the way back in the eighth grade. That’s when he was first offered by head coach Kirby Smart, and four years later he has signed with the Red & Black.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder was one of the Peach State’s most dominant players throughout his entire high school career. Over those four seasons, he racked up 301 total tackles, 96 tackles for loss, 44 sacks, and 19 quarterback hurries while helping lead team to a 38-12 record.

Griffin brings more elite talent to the Bulldogs’ defense

He considered the likes of Miami, USC, South Carolina and others in his recruitment, but ultimately chose to stay close to home and play for the ‘Dawgs. He signed with UGA in December and has already enrolled at the school.

Earlier this month, he participated in the Under Armour All-America Bowl and was one of its top performers against elite players from around the country.

“Griffin was the top defensive player on hand all week,” On3’s Charles Power wrote at the time. “He was unblockable in both 1-on-1’s and team periods throughout the week of practice. At 6-foot-4, 300 pounds with plus length, Griffin is a true top physical talent at the position. No other defensive lineman in attendance rivaled his combination of size and athleticism. The Georiga pledge was largely dominant on both full-speed days of practice, earning On3 MVP honors on Day 1. He made a big sack during the game, showing eye-popping closing speed. The week at Under Armour provided our first in-person, neutral site exposure to the top five prospect. Griffin looked the part of the top defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle.”
