Georgia lands a commitment from four-star OT Ekene Ogboko: 'The fit is perfect for me'

It came down to Clemson, Florida, Georgia and Notre Dame for Ekene Ogboko and the four-star offensive tackle out of Garner (N.C.) South Garner chose the Bulldogs.
“It was about the school and the overall program at Georgia,” Ogboko told On3. “How they do things, my trust in them and the vibe made Georgia the right school for me. I believe Georgia can get me where I want to be. They work. They compete. My trust is Georgia is different.”
Nnamdi Ogboko signed with Georgia in 2024, and the younger brother is excited to join back up with family, but that was not a major factor in this decision.
“It came down to Georgia being the right fit for me. Having my brother there is nice, but we play different positions, we had different options and this decision was about me.
“Georgia can help me in my development and going there, I will be part of something great. I will go against top defensive linemen every day in practice and get better. Georgia prepares guys for the NFL and that is where I want to go.”
Ogboko believes in the staff at Georgia
The development for Ogboko will start with Stacy Searels. The 6-foot-6, 310-pounder is excited about the staff he gets to play for between the hedges.

“Coach Searels is a good guy who cares about his guys. He wants his guys to do well at everything. Coach Searels is a teacher, he is about development and I have great trust in him. We have spent a lot of time together, so we have a great relationship.
“Coach Smart is a great coach too. He runs a very efficient program at Georgia. He is the new era coach of Nick Saban. Coach Smart has a lot of the same qualities, he wants to be the best and he wants to get the most he can out of his players.”
The decision was made over time to choose Georgia, but a big moment was on the official visit earlier this month.
“I knew it on the visit,” Ogboko said. “I was supposed to visit Ohio State, but after thinking about things a couple of days after my visit to Georgia, I knew. The pros outweighed the cons by a lot and the fit [at Georgia] is perfect for me.”
