Georgia made Madison (Miss.) Germantown running back Branson Robinson a priority many months ago. Running backs coach Dell McGee led the way, but head coach Kirby Smart, offensive coordinator Todd Monken and other staff members were heavily involved.

Their time paid off.

The four-star running back committed to the Bulldogs.

“All the pieces are in place for me to be successful at Georgia,” said Robinson about his commitment. “It was a good all-around situation for me.”

The recruitment of Robinson goes back before the pandemic. Georgia got his attention then, and kept it high all the way through.

Robinson took official visits to Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee in June. It came down to those three, but Georgia is the school that added the All-American to their commitment list.

In 2020, Robinson rushed for 1,179 yards averaging 9.7 yards per carry and scored 15 touchdowns. He runs with power, good balance and he is a back that runs through contact. One of his strengths is getting yards after initial contact. He has shown good agility too for his size and he has the ability to run away from defenders.

Georgia now has two four-star running backs committed. Robinson joins Jordan James of Oakland High in Oakland (Tenn.)
