Georgia offers 2023 On3 four-star TE Javonte Vereen
Georgia has extended an offer to Havelock (N.C.) four-star tight end Javonte Vereen.
The North Carolina native is considered by On3 to be one of the best tight ends in the country. He is the No. 116 overall prospect in the 2023 On300 rankings and second-best player in the state.
Vereen is unranked in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Through 10 games this season, Vereen has 31 catches for 985 yards and 12 touchdowns for Havelock.
Vereen also holds offers from Charlotte, East Carolina, Eastern Michigan, NC State and North Carolina Central. His first offer came from the Wolfpack. The Wolfpacker caught up with the 6-foot-4 tight end last week to talk about his early relationship with NC State.
“Right now, NC State’s at the top of my list,” Javonte Vereen told the Wolfpacker. “I feel pretty good that they were the first school to offer me, knowing that they were actually looking at me.

On3 is high on Javonte Vereen
On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power included Vereen in his article last month on 2023 prospects On3 rates higher than others in the industry.
On3 is the only one of the four major recruiting media companies to rank Vereen.
“Javonte Vereen had a strong sophomore season in the spring but has taken his game to another level this fall,” Power said. “The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder has been dominant for eastern North Carolina power Havelock. Vereen is a bouncy pass catcher with the ability to win in contested situations while also showing athleticism after the catch. So far, he has caught 22 balls for 765 yards (34.4 yards per catch) and 10 touchdowns in seven games. He’s also playing outside linebacker and has 38 tackles, four tackles for loss and one interception. In-state programs NC State and East Carolina have offered this fall. It’s a safe bet that more are on the way.”
