Marshall is set to hire Georgia Tech assistant Jason Semore as defensive coordinator, a source tells On3.

Aided by Semore, Georgia had two All-ACC selections at linebacker in 2022. In 2021, he was the defensive coordinator at Valdosta State and helped the team reach the Division II national championship game. He has also previously been a DC at Montana and Colorado School of Mines.

Semore will be the replacement for Lance Guidry, who left Marshall for the defensive coordinator job at Tulane and is now set to be hired as the new defensive coordinator at Miami.

Under Guidry, Marshall ranked eighth nationally in total defense in 2022.
