Georgia Tech is expected to hire FIU’s Ricky Brumfield as special teams coordinator, sources tell On3.

Before heading to FIU last year, Brumfield spent the previous four seasons as an assistant coach at Virginia, working as the Cavaliers’ special teams coordinator and as a position coach for groups such as tight ends and cornerbacks.

At FIU, Brumfield has been the team’s special teams coordinator, assistant head coach and outside linebackers coach.

Brumfield will be the replacement for Jason Semore, who left Georgia Tech for the defensive coordinator position at Marshall.
