Georgia’s and Clemson’s defenses both showed up in big ways on Saturday night, with neither team scoring over 10 points. If it weren’t for the late pick six by Georgia, it would have been 3-3 at the end of regulation.

Both defenses proved to be terrifyingly good and that meant points were hard to come by. After it was said and done, Georgia defeating Clemson 10-3 set a record of a different kind.

It was the lowest scoring matchup of two top-five teams since Oklahoma beat Texas 12-0 in 2004, according to Matt Brown of The Athletic.

Georgia’s dominant defensive front and how they manhandled Clemson

College football fans across the country and many members of the media knew Georgia’s defensive front was good before the game, but this good? Seven sacks. SEC Network’s Gene Chizik named Georgia’s defensive line the best in the SEC for the 2021 season. Saturday night, their behemoth defensive line showed up and acted like it.

Jordan Davis is 6-foot-6, 340-pounds, Jalen Carter is 6-foot-3, 310-pounds, and Devonte Wyatt is 6-foot-3, 315 pounds. That’s an insane amount of size to deal with on the defensive line. Not only that, they’re incredibly athletic for their size, as Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has noted.

PFF released a mind-blowing stat Saturday night. In the entire 2020 season, Trevor Lawrence was sacked 14 times. Last night against Georgia, D.J. Uiagalelei was sacked seven times in one game.

Joseph Ngata

By far, the biggest bright spot for Clemson in the loss was the stellar play of junior wide receiver Joseph Ngata. He was the game’s leading receiver and hauled in six catches for 110 yards for the Tigers. Check out his highlights below.

Coming out of high school, Ngata was rated as a five-star recruit. He was ranked no lower than the 40th best overall prospect in the

In 2020, Skalski was named second-team All-ACC. He racked up 44 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three pass breakups, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
